Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Wareham, MA is seeking a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM with rotating weekends. The role involves specimen collection, data entry in lab systems, and handling billing information when required.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; medical training or phlebotomy certification is preferred, with one year phlebotomy and customer service experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures including drug screens and biometric screening.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones and email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and training records.
