Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I for Staten Island, NY, Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with rotational Saturdays 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Pay range is $24.00–$24.50 per hour. This role collects specimens, administers oral solutions, and ensures accurate order verification using lab systems.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, phlebotomy training, and customer service experience. Phlebotomy certification is preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions per training.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Handle billing information and collect payments following policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
