Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Phlebotomist I for the Sparta, MI location. The role involves collecting specimens, preparing samples, and entering data in lab systems.

You will assist with billing validation and support a range of non-patient duties while maintaining compliance with lab policies. This position requires clear English communication and a High school diploma, with medical training or phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones and email.
• Read and comply with department policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
• Complete online and in-person training on time.
