Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens and support patient testing. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotational weekends. Requires state phlebotomy licensure; CA/NV/WA certifications preferred; one year phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, emails.
• Read and follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compiling statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and testing records timely.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
