Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Costa Mesa, CA. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with rotational weekends. A state phlebotomy license is required in CA; NHA licenses are not accepted.

The position offers pay range $24.00–$25.70 per hour, with eligibility for annual bonus and comprehensive benefits. Prior phlebotomy experience and education are preferred but not required beyond basic high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders and enter data using lab technology systems.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain ID and enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses timely.
