Job summary

Labcorp in Newark, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient-centered team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques, collect specimens and enter patient data accurately, and assist with billing and administrative duties.

Travel to additional sites may be required. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year or more as a phlebotomist; a Phlebotomy certification or accredited training is preferred if you have less experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency if work experience is not present.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
