Job summary

The Phlebotomist at CHS Career Site is responsible for the proper collection of blood specimens to support accurate laboratory testing. This role ensures correct patient identification, timely specimen collection, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards while providing excellent patient care and professional communication.

Essential duties include venipuncture, labeling at the bedside, specimen transport, and maintaining equipment, documentation, and compliance with accreditation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and safety guidelines.
• Ability to collect blood specimens from all age groups.
• Understanding of specimen labeling and handling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection per policy.
• Ensures proper patient identification and accurate labeling.
• Prepares, transports and documents specimens in the system.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the workspace.
