Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. The role involves obtaining and processing laboratory specimens to support accurate test results, with LIS and clerical duties as needed.

The position operates full time with a 4:00am–2:30pm schedule and rotating weekends. The ideal candidate has a phlebotomy certificate, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program preferred.
• At least 3 months of active phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• No license is required. Phlebotomy Certification from a phlebotomy program is preferred.
• Recent graduates of phlebotomy certificate programs may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and/or assists in the processing of laboratory specimens to facilitate the production of quality results.
• Performs LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program preferred.

• The applicant must possess current skills in the required areas so that the orientation period is not a training period, but strictly an orientation to our facility and its instrumentation, policies, and procedures.
• Recent graduates of phlebotomy certificate programs may be considered in lieu of experience.
• No license is required. Phlebotomy Certification from a phlebotomy program is preferred.
