Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Florida is seeking a Sr Phlebotomist to join the laboratory team. This full-time role supports blood sample collection, processing, and LIS/computer tasks to ensure accurate results and timely reporting.

The position requires at least 2 years of active phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a relevant phlebotomy certificate plus national certification. Weekend and holiday rotations are required as part of the schedule.

This position contributes to the mission of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the goals of the department by obtaining and/or assisting in the processing of laboratory specimens to facilitate the production of quality results.

General Responsibilities:
  • Performs LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed.

  • At least 2 years of active phlebotomy experience required.
  • The applicant must possess current skills in the required areas.
  • Phlebotomy Certificate from an accredited phlebotomy program and a National Certification with one of the following recognized organizations: American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT), or National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCA).
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
