Job summary

Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens across Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester and parts of lower Connecticut.

This full-time role offers a Monday-Friday schedule with travel between Sunrise locations. Hourly pay ranges from $23.50 to $25.00, with competitive benefits and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification required.
• At least 6 months experience; travel to multiple Sunrise locations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple Sunrise locations.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens (urine, sputum, throat swabs) for testing.
• Check requisitions or labels to ensure accuracy before collection.
• Follow safety, infection control and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
• Process specimens to prepare them for testing.
• Maintain a clean, presentable Patient Service Center.

Location: Float Phlebotomist Covering Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester and lower Connecticut

Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm; Monday to Friday and 7:30am - 1:00pm; Saturday and (Day Off TDB)

Full-time: Benefits Eligible

Hourly Rate: $23.50hr - $25.00/hr

In this role you will:

• Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing
• Check the test requisition or computer label to assure correctness and completeness prior to collecting sample
• Follow all safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines
• Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing
• Ensure the Patient Service Center is clean, tidy and presentable

All You Need Is
