Job summary

Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to cover Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester and lower Connecticut. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with Saturday shifts 7:30am–1:00pm (Day Off TDB).

Full-time position with benefits and hourly pay of $23.50–$25.00. Responsibilities include obtaining blood and non-blood specimens, verifying requisitions, and ensuring lab safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomy certification
• At least 6 months experience
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple Sunrise locations
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing
• Check the test requisition or computer label to assure correctness and completeness prior to collecting sample
• Follow all safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines
• Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing
• Ensure the Patient Service Center is clean, tidy and presentable
