Job summary

Labcorp in Calverton, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our clinical team. The role involves blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques, specimen handling, and accurate data entry in a fast-paced health-care setting.

Typical schedule is Monday to Friday 10:00am–6:00pm with occasional Saturday work; benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401(k). Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification or training or 3+ months experience.
• Evidence of color vision and ability to pass a color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
