Job summary

Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas (MANA) is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw blood and obtain specimens with minimal discomfort for laboratory analyses. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am–1:00pm, on-site in Fayetteville, AR.

You will verify patient identity, label specimens accurately, follow Medicare guidelines, and perform venipuncture and finger/heel sticks with professionalism. High school diploma or GED is required; experience is welcome but not required.

  • Maintain accuracy in all work; Complete tasks on time and per deadlines, label specimens with a high degree of accuracy, ensure proper tubes are used for each blood test ordered
  • Verify the identity of every patient before collecting any samples
  • identification and sample collection using paper orders in the event of an interruption in computer service
  • Be aware of Medicare guidelines, send-out test requirements, and special tests; Explain Medicare ABNs to patients clearly and accurately
  • Perform venipuncture and finger/heel stick procedures with a high degree of professionalism and concern for the patient, including a minimum of 2 sticks per encounter
  • Collect nasal and throat swabs and blood cultures when needed

Overview

The Phlebotomist draws blood and obtains various specimens from patients with minimum discomfort and pain for the performance of clinical laboratory analyses. Hours for this position will be Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 1:00pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accuracy in all work; Complete tasks on time and per any deadlines, label specimens with a high degree of accuracy, ensure proper tubes are used for each blood test ordered
