Job summary

Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas (MANA) in Fayetteville, AR, seeks an LPN to provide direct or indirect nursing care within a physician-led practice. You will assist with procedures, maintain accurate health records, and coordinate tests and follow-ups to ensure efficient patient flow.

The role emphasizes hands-on patient care, documentation in EMR, and collaboration with physicians and staff in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited LPN program with a current license.
  • Active LPN or RN license recognized for eligibility.
  • Around 2 years’ experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams and manage schedules.
  • Maintain accurate patient health records in EMR.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests and follow-up appointments; notify patients.
  • Perform venipunctures and basic nursing duties as needed.

Job description

Overview

The LPN is responsible for providing direct or indirect nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physicians’ practice.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams, revising daily schedules; obtaining charts and charge tickets, locating lab tests and X-ray reports.2. Assure patient health record is accurate and current.3. Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patients.4. Notify hospital or skilled nursing facility personnel of physicians orders.5. Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures; notify patients of test results; schedule follow-upappointments as appropriate.6. Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.7. Record health history and vital signs of patients; note abnormal conditions for physician.8. Prepare/drape patient for exam; assist with procedures such as paps, sigmoids, etc.9. Perform catheterizations, hemoccult tests, vision screenings; apply splints, Ace wraps; change dressings; remove sutures and staples.10. Perform venipunctures and fingersticks; start or DC IV (if certified).11. Collect specimens for lab and enter lab orders.12. Document in EMR all transactions, phone conversations, and orders.13. Administer antigens in correct dosages; observe patient for reactions.14. Train patients in self-administration of insulin, when appropriate.

15. Keep test apparatus clean and filled; update and maintain procedure manuals.16. Set up stock rooms; clean rooms between procedures.17. Clean and sterilize equipment following procedures.18. Order and maintain inventories of supplies and medications.19. Ensure all medications (oral and parenteral) are current.20. Collect data for Medicare wellness exams as needed.21. Follow clinic policies for infection control in handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous waste materials.22. Screen pharmaceutical representatives.23. Collect and maintain patient information needed for ACO reporting.24. Obtain ABN waivers as needed.25. Precert procedures &/or test and do referrals when needed for managed care insurance.26. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
