Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection in a fast-paced patient service center and laboratory environment. You will prepare and handle specimens, maintain accurate records, and assist with training and process improvements while delivering courteous patient care.

The role requires 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma or GED, and state certification where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification is required by state.
• Experience in a fast-paced laboratory or patient service center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws using straight and butterfly needles accurately and safely.
• Collect, label, and store specimens per established procedures and test requirements.
• Explain venipuncture and collection procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Match laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes and verify patient/test information.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Check requisitions or labels against provider scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport with proper temperature control and documentation.
