Management Performance Associates is seeking a Phlebotomist for Rockville, MD, on a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm, with benefits available.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, storage, and adherence to OSHA/DEP regulations. Minimum 2+ years experience required; phlebotomy certification and HS diploma are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required in the employment state.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience performing venipunctures in fast-paced labs or hospitals.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsabilités

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, and maintain data and records.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture procedure clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate venipuncture techniques with straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand and apply physicians' orders.
• Match requisitions to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze as required.
• Verify requisitions against labels to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens per temperature protocols; label and containerize; follow OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results to inquiries.
