Job summary

Ashton North LLC seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Washington DC (Varnum St NE). Schedule is Mon–Fri, 7:30am–4pm, with potential for permanent placement. The role involves drawing blood, labeling and handling specimens, and adhering to safety protocols. Training and performance feedback are part of the job.

Minimum requirements include a valid phlebotomy certification and at least 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required in the employing state.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing venipunctures in fast-paced labs or hospital settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collect specimens and store them according to established procedures.
• Explain procedure and venipuncture steps clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles as needed.
• Ensure test requisitions and labels match patient and sample, prepare specimens for transport.
