Ashton North LLC in Germantown, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential to go permanent. The role includes performing venipunctures, labeling and handling specimens, and ensuring transport according to protocol.

Ideal candidates hold a valid phlebotomy certification and 2–5 years in a fast-paced lab or hospital, plus PC proficiency. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 2–5 years venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens according to protocol.
• Centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate work areas.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for transport as required by test order.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and maintain specimen integrity.
• Attend annual department trainings and stay compliant with OSHA regulations.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
