Job summary

Top Echelon LLC in Washington, DC is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to support blood collection, specimen handling, and associated duties in a fast-paced lab setting. The role requires venipuncture experience and adherence to protocol, with attention to patient communication and quality controls.

This contract position offers benefits, potential for permanent placement, and a daytime Mon–Fri schedule at the Washington DC facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to protocol.
