Job summary

LabCorp in Lafayette, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood samples, enter patient data accurately, and provide outstanding service. The role requires CA phlebotomy licensure, strong communication, and flexibility for travel between sites.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with potential weekend requirements, a quarterly incentive plan, and comprehensive benefits. Training in California is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License.
• 1 or more months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• Current or prior experience with Labcorp.
• In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the CA Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to attend 2-week training in California.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
