Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist for Westwood Medical Pavilion. This full-time role schedules Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm, and involves venipuncture, labeling, data entry, and patient communication in ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• ASCP-Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Fluent English for reading, writing, and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws by venipuncture following standard protocol and ensure patient safety.
• Label specimens accurately and prepare them for transport and testing.
• Enter orders and patient data in LIS/HIS systems as needed.
• Identify patients, provide courteous service, and assist nursing staff when requested.
• Maintain appropriate supplies and comply with regulatory and safety standards.
