Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Washington, DC. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging when required, and ensuring proper processing under supervision, while keeping patient comfort in mind.

You will handle hard draws with geriatric patients, maintain accurate records, and adhere to OSHA standards. The assignment lasts 3 months with potential for permanent hire, and benefits are available upon contract fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification required in the employing state.
• Minimum 5 years performing venipunctures in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, and record maintenance data as required.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions for accuracy and transport specimens properly.
• Attend annual department trainings and ensure OSHA/DEP compliance.
• Answer telephone calls and communicate results to inquiries.
