St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for PRN, varied shifts in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will perform high-quality specimen collection, support laboratory operations, and ensure timely processing of patient samples across the medical center. The role requires phlebotomy CPT certification or health-related experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or health-related experience preferred; on-the-job training may be provided.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Typing and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection using proper techniques and age-appropriate devices.
• Ensure safe handling and proper collection methods to maintain specimen integrity and quality.
• Follow correct procedures for labeling, accessioning, and delivering specimens to the appropriate department.
• Maintain the LIS (Laboratory Information System) specimen collection component.
• Perform patient registration functions for courier specimens.
• Respond promptly and professionally to STAT, ASAP, NOW, and outpatient collection requests.
• Communicate effectively with departments and alert appropriate staff regarding STAT orders.
• This role may include nights and weekends as needed.
