Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join the inpatient lab team on a per diem basis. You will obtain in-house blood specimens, label and process specimens, and support patient care with accurate information and timely sample handling.

The role requires a high school diploma; National Phlebotomy Certification is preferred. Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience is favored, with rotating shifts and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience with inpatient lab workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain in-house blood specimens via venipuncture using standard methods.
• Label specimens and process orders following policy.
• Provide patient information to the appropriate care giver and handle specimen processing.
