RRC Solutions Group is seeking a Phlebotomist in Latham, NY for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm, with alternating Saturdays 7am-1pm.

You will perform blood draws, manage specimen labeling and transport, and ensure specimen integrity following OSHA/DEP guidelines. Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting is required, plus a valid state phlebotomy certification and MS Office proficiency.

Qualificações

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and/or other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all orders. Matches requisition forms to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature, label, and transport with protocol compliance.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
