Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Greenwich, CT. The role supports blood draws, specimen labeling, and handling by following approved procedures.

Schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays; potential for permanent employment exists. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience and a state phlebotomy certification, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum 12 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly explains the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to protocol to maintain integrity.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
