Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Phlebotomist contractor for a hands-on lab role in New York. The position covers routine blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper handling to maintain sample integrity.

Training and workflow improvements are part of the scope, with opportunities for permanent placement. The role requires phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients.
• Label, centrifuge, and package specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensure all test requisitions or labels match scripts; maintain specimen integrity during transport and storage.
