Modern Machining Solutions Inc is seeking a Phlebotomist to support routine blood collection, labeling, and specimen processing in a fast-paced lab setting in Owasso, OK. The role requires careful adherence to procedures, patient communication, and accurate data entry.

The position involves following physician orders, performing blood draws with various needle types, and ensuring specimens are properly stored and transported.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physician orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and maintain sample integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results when needed.
