Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. (emphasized in the job requirements)

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling and handling.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity per protocol and regulatory requirements.
