Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in Columbus, GA seeks a Phlebotomist to support lab operations on a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. You will perform venipuncture, label specimens, and ensure proper handling and documentation.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, and assisting with OSHA/DEP compliance. Minimum 6 months’ experience and valid state phlebotomy certification are required. Proficiency with MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months’ venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians’ orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain proper storage temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and relay lab results where needed.
