Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures for patients of all ages. You will ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling, and handle specimen receiving and processing within the LIS.

Shifts are 3-4 days/week with every third weekend; rotating on-call and holiday shifts apply. A $2,000 sign-on bonus may be offered, plus weekend differential and on-call pay.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of accredited phlebotomy training program.
  • Clinical rotation completed.

Job description

Work Schedule

This is a part-time, 80% FTE position. Scheduled shifts are 3-4 days/week and every 3rd weekend from 4:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Rotating on-call and holiday shifts required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

  • Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.

Our commitment to training: Candidates must be available to complete full-time training Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, for a period of 6 to 8 weeks upon hire.

Pay

This position may be eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Additional components of compensation may include:

  • Weekend differential
  • On-call pay

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • One year of experience in phlebotomy and/or healthcare (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
  • Phlebotomist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent (Preferred)
