Job summary

Bay Area Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist Clerical Support to join our Phlebotomy team. This full-time role handles blood specimen collection from patients of all ages with professional and courteous service, while performing clerical tasks and using the Lab Information System to manage orders, labels, and test results.

Ideal candidates will identify patients accurately, maintain sample integrity, and support departmental safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Registered as a Certified Laboratory Phlebotomist with a national certification agency (ASCP or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience with HIS/LIS computer systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Positively identify patient before obtaining specimens for laboratory testing.
• Skillfully collect blood specimens for testing and label accurately.
• Operate Lab Info System to process orders, create batches, and print labels.
• Collect urine drug screens for pre-employment, for cause, and accidents (NIDA and non-NIDA).
• Perform clerical functions and maintain inventory of supplies.
