Job summary

samhealth is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Boynton Beach team in a full-time, on-site role. You will support providers and patients with administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring efficient flow and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate has MA training, BLS, and 1+ year clinical experience, with strong EHR skills and a compassionate, team-oriented approach. Spanish language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• MA program or CMA/RMA cert preferred.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• 1+ year experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
• Phlebotomy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Take and record vital signs, patient history, height, weight, and other information.
• Administer injections, medications, and immunizations as directed by the provider.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine).
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and other basic procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintain clean and sanitary exam rooms and medical equipment.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage check-in/check-out process.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR system.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify insurance eligibility.
• Answer phone calls and relay messages to the clinical team.
• Follow up on test results and patient referrals.
• Manage inventory and order medical supplies.

Position Summary
