Responsibilities include preparation, registration, and ensuring orders are correctly processed while adhering to safety and quality standards. BLS certification and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required; if not, must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Greets, receives, and registers laboratory and pathology patients/specimens into the computer system.
• Ensures physician orders are interpreted and ordered.
• Receives specimens in the computer and delivers them to the proper department.
• Performs required competencies, continuing education and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes/organizes workload efficiently; adjusts priorities as needed.
• Completes tasks in a timely manner and meets deadlines for required tasks.
• Instructs patients on pre-test preparation and requirements.
• Maintains compliance and handles paperwork during registration.
• Follows all safety and infection control policies per OSHA and policy.
