Job summary

The phlebotomist will follow aseptic techniques to maintain specimen integrity throughout collection and processing. Responsibilities include processing reference laboratory specimens, completing orders accurately, and assisting with billing and manual laboratory

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience or completed accredited training.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens via venous, capillary or finger sticks.
• Verify patient identification and explain the sampling process to the patient.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques.
• Process reference laboratory specimens and ensure orders are completed accurately.
• Assist with billing and prepare manual laboratory reports.
• Support department duties as needed.
