Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens in a clinical setting. You will perform venipunctures, ensure proper labeling and processing, and support patient care through teamwork.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates, with full benefits starting on day one. Multiple levels (Phlebotomist I–III) are available, with compensation commensurate with experience and ASCP

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP) certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens.
• Accurately label, accession, and process specimens.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Mentor students and new employees as needed.
• Maintain competency through Learning Management System and annual assessments.
