RRC Solutions Group is seeking a phlebotomist in Gahanna, OH for a 3–4 month contract. The position requires at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience and involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to proper handling procedures.

Schedule is 8:30 AM–5:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, with 8:30 AM–8:00 PM on Thursday. Benefits are available.

• Perform blood draws and handle specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording and decontamination.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients and/or others as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders and ensure accuracy.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and storage conditions.

Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples.
