Job summary

Talent Solutions Partners is seeking a contract Phlebotomist in Gahanna, OH. Schedule includes 8:30am–5:00pm on Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri and 8:30am–8:00pm on Thu. The role involves phlebotomy duties, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and ensuring proper handling and documentation of samples.

This 3–4 month assignment requires at least one year of experience and offers available benefits. The candidate will perform blood draws, explain the process to patients, and maintain accuracy in patient and test

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience in collecting and handling blood specimens per procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture using straight or butterfly needles.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens as required by test orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
• Explain procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Collect and document patient information and maintain equipment and data records.
• Prepare specimens for transport and ensure proper temperature control.

Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples.
