The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment in Gahanna, OH. The position requires at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience and involves hands-on blood collection, labeling, centrifuging, and specimen handling.

Schedule includes 8:30am–5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with 8:30am–8:00pm on Thursdays. Duration is projected at 3 to 4 months and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with blood draws and specimen handling preferred.
• Ability to explain venipuncture procedure clearly to patients.
• Willingness to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly explains the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures to patients.
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understands all physicians' orders and matches requisitions.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labels.
• Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.
• Ensure proper data entry and chain-of-custody for specimens.

Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples.
