Jobtailor in the United States seeks a qualified phlebotomist to collect blood and non-blood specimens, label samples, and support routine clerical tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will perform venipunctures and skin punctures, handle chain-of-custody procedures, and operate common lab equipment while ensuring patient comfort and accuracy in specimen handling.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, and calculator.
  • Ability to use computer software (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Ability to use fax machines, printers, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to perform venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently.
  • Ability to collect blood, blood cultures, urine, sputum, semen samples, throat swabs, and chain-of-custody specimens.
  • Ability to lift, move, stoop, reach, stand, walk, and carry materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stand and walk for the entire shift.
  • Ability to work various shifts based on departmental needs.
  • May be required to travel between facilities/buildings

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical duties including filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing
  • Communicate with patients, clients, and staff
