Pride Health is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to support a medical facility in Sarasota, FL. This 3-month assignment offers exposure to a top-tier healthcare organization and the potential for contract-to-hire.

The role requires blood draws, specimen handling, and precise data/documentation with a focus on patient communication. Schedule: Mon-Fri 6AM–3:30PM, Sat 6AM–11AM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2–5 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate venipuncture techniques using straight or butterfly needles.
• Verify test requisitions match labels and prepare samples for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures.

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist Float to support our client’s medical facility in Sarasota FL 34239 this is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Sarasota FL 34239

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Range: $22.79 Per Hour- $24.41 Per Hour

Schedule: Mon- Fri 6AM - 3:30PM and Sat 6AM-11AM

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, and places samples.
