Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System is seeking a rotating shift, PRN Phlebotomist in Pryor, OK. You will perform venipuncture and specimen collection with a focus on accuracy and compassionate patient care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program with clinicals preferred.
• Certification from a nationally recognized agency (listed).

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection, and specimen culture collection as part of laboratory procedures.
• Promote professionalism and coordinate with colleagues to maintain a cooperative work environment.
• Obtain specimens in accordance with laboratory guidelines and proper patient identification.
• Communicate pertinent data about patient or specimen to care providers and ensure prompt transport.

• Engages in self-evaluation of practice and takes action to improve knowledge and skills.
• Retains accountability for quality of care given to the patient.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience
• Certification from nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to:
  • National Heathcareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA)
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP)
  • American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT)
  • National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT)
  • American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (ACA)
