Qualifications

  • Certification from a nationally recognized agency (CPT/NHA, PBT/ASCP, RPT/AMT, NCPT/NCCT, CPT/ACA).
  • Experience working in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Follow protocols for packaging and transport of specimens.
  • Retain accountability for quality of care.

Join our team as a night shift, PRN, Phlebotomist in Claremore, OK.

Responsibilities
  • Perform specimen collection techniques including venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction.
  • Promote professionalism and collaborate with colleagues in a cooperative environment.
  • Ensure specimens are obtained in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
  • Communicate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to appropriate care providers.
  • Support organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Attain required competency and demonstrate the ability to follow procedural directions and protocols.
  • Prioritize and organize workload and assist other coworkers to maintain productivity.
  • Follow proper protocols for specimen packaging and specimen transport.
  • Accession specimens as assigned.
  • Practice proper infection control, patient identification, and prompt specimen transport.
  • Perform drug screen collection and processing as assigned.
  • Answer laboratory department phone calls.
  • Recognize emergent conditions and respond appropriately.
  • Provide phlebotomy services in a professional and patient‑centered manner.
  • Engage in self‑evaluation of practice and take action to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Retain accountability for quality of care given to the patient.
Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Job Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or prior phlebotomy experience.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized agency, such as:
    • National Health Career Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT/NHA)
    • American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician (PBT/ASCP)
    • American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT/AMT)
    • National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT/NCCT)
    • American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT/ACA)
  • Experience working in a clinical setting.
