Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist in Topeka, KS. The role focuses on specimen collection including venipuncture, capillary draws, and proper labeling within a hospital lab setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited phlebotomy program with clinicals, and active national certification. Hospital lab experience and strong customer service skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or prior phlebotomy experience.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized agency (NHA CPT, ASCP PBT, AMT RPT, NCCT NCPT, ACA CPT) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instructions, and specimen culture collection.
  • Remain a focused laboratory team member delivering accurate specimens and patient care.

Responsibilities

The Phlebotomist functions as a laboratory professional who performs specimen collection techniques or specimen collection instructions that include; venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:



  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.

  • Certification from nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • National Heathcareer Association - Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA).

    • American Society for Clinical Pathology - Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP).

    • American Medical Technologists - Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT).

    • National Center for Competency Testing - National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT).

    • American Certification Agency - Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (ACA).



  • Hospital Lab information system skills and strong customer service skills.

  • Experience working in the clinical setting.


Preferred Job Requirements.



  • 5+ years' experience as a Phlebotomist.
