Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Pittsburg, TX is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for an evening shift on a PRN basis. The role involves blood collection, specimen handling, and maintaining patient care standards in a hospital lab setting.

You will perform venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instructions, and specimen culture collection while adhering to accreditation guidelines. Certification and completion of an accredited phlebotomy program are required, with clinical experience

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or phlebotomy experience.
• Certification from nationally recognized agencies (NHA CPT, ASCP PBT, AMT RPT, NCCT NCPT, ACA CPT).
• Experience in a clinical setting and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary draws.
• Instruct on urine collection and specimen culture collection.
• Work in a hospital laboratory with focus on patient care.

The Phlebotomist functions as a laboratory professional who performs specimen collection techniques or specimen collection instructions that include; venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
• Certification from nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • National Heathcareer Association - Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA).
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology - Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP).
  • American Medical Technologists - Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT).
  • National Center for Competency Testing - National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT).
  • American Certification Agency - Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (ACA).
• Hospital Lab information system skills and strong customer service skills.
• Experience working in the clinical setting.

Preferred Job Requirements.

• 5+ years' experience as a Phlebotomist.
