Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification, strongly preferred.
• At least 1-2 years recent experience in urgent or primary care setting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
• Must have experience in phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Ability to communicate effectively with providers and others to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinically, providing patient care, taking histories and vital signs, updating medication lists and patient records in EHR, collecting specimens, assisting with minor procedures, applying dressings, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Maintaining patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policy and procedures while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Additional duties may include administrative tasks: check-in/check-out, scheduling appointments/tests/referrals, and answering the telephone.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Assist clinically, providing patient care, taking histories and vital signs, updating medication lists and patient records in EHR, collecting specimens, assisting with minor procedures, applying dressings, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Maintaining patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policy and procedures while adhering to the guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Additional duties may also include: Assisting administratively in patient relations, check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, tests and referrals, and answering the telephone
