Overview
As a Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist, you’ll provide venipuncture plus other clinical support services while ensuring an exceptional patient experience, from front‑desk intake to lab duties.
Responsibilities
- Use the C‑I‑CARE framework in all patient interactions (clinical and administrative).
- Provide venipuncture services to a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Perform extended scope duties such as non‑blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals.
- Maintain high standards of specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory, and tool sterilization.
- Assist with clerical duties—biometric screening forms, medical record/consult review, billing inquiries, DOH reporting.
- Manage front‑of‑house duties: check‑in/check‑out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork, test prep, service‑level expectations.
- Contribute to team development through huddles, problem‑solving, and supporting providers with ad‑hoc asks.
- Perform opening and closing duties, maintain look and feel of patient and employee spaces, restock supplies.
- Master the technology suite—Slack, G‑suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, EMR system.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist.
- Strong customer‑service skills and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer technology (typing, internet navigation, multiple software platforms).
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multidisciplinary teams (remote experience a plus).
- Confidence and trust‑building during specimen collection, delivering human‑centered care.
- Proven ability to persist through change and step up to challenges.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $24.00–$26.00 per hour, based on a standard full‑time schedule. Total package may include benefits. For more detail, visit One Medical careers page.
Work Schedule & Location
Full‑time, 8‑hour shifts between 7:30 AM–7:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Based at a New York, NY office.
