Job description

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Mt Vernon, TX (75457).

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm. Additional hours or rotating Saturdays may be requested as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform accurate data entry of patient information in a timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.
  • Work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in a fast‑paced, high‑volume work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric – geriatric).
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience.
Job Standards
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency must be demonstrated if work experience is not available.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Quarterly Incentive Bonus Program
  • Phlebotomists may be eligible to participate in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
Benefits
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees scheduled for less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible for the 401(k) plan.
  • Employees on a 7on/7off schedule are eligible for all foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
