Job summary

Labcorp in Bryan, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform skilled specimen collections and provide excellent patient service in a client office setting. The role includes potential quarterly bonuses through the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan.

The position requires phlebotomy skills, a high school diploma, and flexibility for overtime. Prior Labcorp experience is preferred and travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years phlebotomy experience in clinical/hospital.
  • 1+ years assisting diverse patient groups (pediatric - geriatric).
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency if no work experience.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Phlebotomist (Bryan, TX 77802)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm (additional hours / rotating Saturdays may be requested as needed)

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
  • 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

This role will work in our client's office setting to provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
