Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist I to support a medical facility in Huntsville, AL. The role pays $18.25–$19.55 per hour and runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. A minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience is required; 1+ year is preferred.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and accurate data entry and customer service. The position is a contract role for 3+ months with potential for extension, with benefits described by Pride Health.

Qualifications

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data and decontamination, and update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens per established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage temperatures.

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist I to support our client’s medical facility in Huntsville AL 35801. It's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Duration: 3+ months

Pay rate: $18.25/hour to $19.55/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at the required temperature and places them.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED. One(+) years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
